Job Title:
Shipping Coordinator Job Description The Shipping Coordinator oversees daily outbound shipments of fresh and processed onion products, ensuring orders are picked, packaged, and shipped accurately and on schedule. This role collaborates closely with warehouse, production, and transportation teams to plan loads, prepare and verify shipping documentation, and track deliveries. The Shipping Coordinator also communicates with carriers and customers to resolve issues promptly and supports smooth, efficient shipping operations in a fast-paced agricultural processing environment. Responsibilities Coordinate daily outbound shipments of fresh and processed onion products to ensure accurate and on-time delivery. Schedule and organize loads in collaboration with warehouse, production, and transportation teams to meet customer demand. Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading and other required records. Track shipments and monitor delivery status to ensure timely arrival and resolve any delays or issues. Communicate with carriers to arrange pickups, confirm schedules, and address transportation-related concerns. Work closely with warehouse staff to support order selection, packaging, and material handling activities for outbound orders. Assist with shipping and receiving functions, including verifying orders, checking counts, and ensuring accuracy of inventory movements. Use computer systems to enter, update, and track shipping information and inventory data. Provide customer service by responding to inquiries, updating customers on shipment status, and resolving shipping-related problems. Help maintain an organized, efficient shipping area that supports safe and continuous production and logistics operations. Support logistics planning to keep production lines moving and aligned with shipping schedules in a high-volume environment. Essential Skills Experience with shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment. Knowledge of inventory processes and ability to support accurate inventory tracking. Experience with order selection, packaging, and material handling activities. Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with carriers, internal teams, and customers. Computer skills to enter, manage, and track shipping and inventory information. Ability to read and write in English to understand shipping documents, labels, and instructions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments, schedules, and priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to coordinate with carriers, warehouse teams, and customers while resolving shipping issues quickly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience is preferred but not required. Experience working in a manufacturing, plant, or food processing environment is a plus. Familiarity with logistics coordination and transportation scheduling is beneficial. Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced production and shipping setting. Why Work Here?
