Description Summary Under the director of the processing supervisor, the position is responsible for leading the activities or the dock personnel and their daily duties Key Responsibilities Ensure a quality product comes from the plant to the customer in a safe, efficient and sanitary way
Operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts to unload trucks and remove pallets from packing floor to cooler
Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices or orders to verify accuracy
Perform proper egg packing and handling procedures
Submit record keeping and documentation
Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of landing or shipping orders to route materials
Maintain an accurate inventory of eggs and packing supplies
Order packing supplies as needed
Responsible for sanitation of cooler, dock and load bay
Maintain and clean equipment and dry storage area
Follow and enforce proper safety, food safety and GMP expectations
Train and oversee team of Dock Attendants
Manage schedule for Dock Attendants
Assist Processing Supervisor with performance evaluations of dock attendants
Communicate effectively with truck drivers and customer contact to exchange information or to solve problems
May be requires to move tankers or trailers

Experience in food manufacturing or processing is desirable
Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving environment is required
Previous forklift and pallet jack experience is required
Experience in safety programs and processes, such as confined space, lock out tag out, hazcom, etc.
Experience in equipment in operation Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to read, speak, and write English is required
Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred
Must be able to use a computer and be familiar with Microsoft Office
Strong organizational skills Physical Requirements Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 60 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to climb up to 150ft by ladder. Work Environment Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Employee may work in outside environment where temperatures vary seasonally. Clothing must be worn based on seasonal weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Certain areas may be loud enough to require ear protection. All personal protective equipment will be provided and required during certain working conditions and in certain areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places.
