Recieving Supervisor Global Power Components - 2.9 Milwaukee, WI Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Global Power Components is a privately held, rapidly growing manufacturer of UL heavy-gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures housing fully integrated electrical distribution and control systems. Operating from our newly expanded 300,000 sq. ft. facility, we continue to invest in people, technology, and process excellence as the recognized leader in our industry. As we scale operations and continue to optimize our record keeping, we are looking to add a Technical Records Specialist who will work within the Electrical Engineering group, building and maintaining a thorough and organized set of records to include electrical testing reports and photos, training documents, and equipment logs. The Receiving Supervisor directs all inbound logistics, ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely unloading of freight. This hands-on leadership role manages daily dock operations, enforces strict safety protocols, oversees receipt entry, and coordinates with warehouse and transport teams to maintain efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:
Supervise, train, and schedule dockworkers and forklift operators. Oversee performance, conduct shift meetings, and ensure compliance with all workplace policies.
Freight Management:
Oversee the unloading, sorting, and staging of all inbound freight. Verify shipments against bills of lading, purchase orders, and packing slips to ensure 100% accuracy.
Inventory Control:
Partner with inventory control teams to log incoming materials into the warehouse management system. Route materials to designated storage and production locations.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce OSHA standards, safety guidelines, and company protocols on the dock. Conduct regular equipment checks and safety audits.
Discrepancy Resolution:
Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately, documenting issues and communicating with project managers, purchasing, inventory control and/or logistics teams.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
2-4 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, logistics, or LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) environment.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory tracking software, and RF scanners. Experience with Epicor a plus!
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs. as needed.
