Warehouse Staff Position Summary Responsible for the overall management of warehouse operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe receipt, storage, and distribution of product. Oversees inventory control, facility operations, and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Promotes a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leads daily warehouse operations, including oversight and management of receiving, storage, inventory management, and distribution of product. Ensures all warehouse activities are conducted safely and in compliance with Feeding America, AIB, OSHA, and organizational standards. Oversees product flow to ensure timely and accurate receipt, storage, and distribution. Maintains inventory accuracy, ensuring variance does not exceed established thresholds (e.g., +/- 2%). Implements and monitors inventory control processes, including FIFO, product coding, and cycle counts. Oversees daily and monthly inventory reconciliation in coordination with Finance staff. Supervises warehouse staff including scheduling, coaching, performance management, and accountability. Ensures proper staffing and efficient delegation of warehouse operations. Oversees and manages staff activities for sanitation, pest control, and overall warehouse cleanliness to meet food safety and regulatory requirements. Ensures proper temperature monitoring and documentation for all storage areas, including coolers and freezers. Oversees maintenance and safe operation of warehouse equipment and facility systems (electrical, plumbing, refrigeration). Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance for facility and equipment. Manages recycling programs, including sale and tracking of cardboard and pallets. Builds and maintains relationships with partner agencies, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders. Supports development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. Promotes a professional, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Provides direct supervision of warehouse staff. Responsible for coaching, performance management, and development of team members. Ensures accountability for safety compliance, operational performance, and inventory accuracy. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field. Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and safety practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Food Handler's Card. Preferred Experience with food banking, distribution, or nonprofit operations. Experience with commercial vehicle and equipment maintenance. Experience with inventory management systems. Physical Demands & Work Environment Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, including refrigerated and freezer areas. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and physical activity. Regularly lifts up to 50 lbs repetitively without a team lift. Exposure to noise, dust, and equipment operation, including forklifts and pallet jacks. Travel Requirements Occasional local travel and limited overnight travel for training or meetings may be required.
