Job Title:
2nd Shift Material Handler Job Description This role supports a fast-paced automotive supply warehouse by ensuring materials move efficiently and accurately through the facility. The 2nd shift Material Handler safely operates an electrical sit-down forklift and other warehouse equipment to stock, pick, pack, load, and unload materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production demands. Responsibilities Stock materials in the warehouse by placing items in the correct designated locations on both MTM and TMMAL sides of the facility. Operate an electrical sit-down forklift to move pallets and materials safely throughout the warehouse. Load and unload trucks, including handling a variety of materials and products as needed. Perform picking and packing of orders using RF scanners to ensure accurate order fulfillment. Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move products and supplies. Support production by ensuring materials are available and staged in a timely manner. Perform general labor tasks related to material handling, including packaging and order picking. Maintain accurate inventory by following established procedures for counting, labeling, and tracking materials. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where both MTM and TMMAL areas operate at a high speed. Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures when operating equipment and handling materials. Participate in on-site interviews and evaluations with supervisors as part of the hiring and onboarding process. Essential Skills Proven experience as a material handler in a warehouse, distribution, or production environment. Hands-on experience with picking and packing orders. Background in production or manufacturing support roles. Ability to operate an electrical sit-down forklift safely and efficiently. Experience using RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking. Ability to use pallet jacks and related material handling equipment. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with high production and material flow. Strong attention to detail to ensure materials are placed in correct locations and orders are accurate. Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift hours from 7:00 pm to 3:45 am, with flexibility for extended hours as needed. Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and stacking materials throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing supply environment. Familiarity with inventory control processes and basic warehouse management practices. Experience with loading and unloading trucks in a warehouse setting. Comfort working in areas with different workflows, including MTM and TMMAL sections. Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members. Work Environment This is a 2nd shift role with core hours from 7:00 pm to 3:45 am, with frequent daily overtime that may extend the shift to approximately 4:45 or 5:00 am. The position is based in a high-volume automotive supply warehouse divided into MTM and TMMAL areas, both of which operate at a very fast pace. You will work on-site and use an electrical sit-down forklift, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other standard warehouse equipment. The environment involves frequent loading and unloading of trucks, order picking, packing, and general material handling tasks. Expect an active, production-focused setting where safety procedures and proper equipment use are essential. Dress is typical for a warehouse environment, with appropriate work attire and safety gear required in accordance with facility guidelines.
