ACE HARDWARE LUMBER YARD ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary :

A Greers Ace Hardware Lumber Yard Associate supports daily yard operations by providing outstanding customer service, safely handling building materials, and maintaining an organized, efficient yard. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to delivering the high level of service Greers customers expect. Key Responsibilities 1. Deliver Helpful Customer Service Greet every customer promptly and provide needed assistance Help customers select lumber, plywood, and building materials Safely and efficiently load materials into customer vehicles Anticipate customer needs and go the extra step to assist Represent Greers values: friendly, knowledgeable, and dependable Assist customers in taking and pulling accurate lumber orders Properly ring up lumber orders 2. Yard Operations & Material Handling Receive, unload, and organize incoming deliveries of lumber and material Pull and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently Operate forklift and equipment safely (training/certification provided) Inspect materials for quality and report damage or shortages 3. Maintain a Clean, Organized Yard Keep yard, racks, and drive lanes clean, neat, and accessible Properly stack and store lumber to prevent damage and ensure safety Rotate inventory and protect materials from weather when needed Support store cleanliness and merchandising standards 4. Prioritize Safety Always follow all safety guidelines and procedures Use proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment Stay alert to moving vehicles, equipment, and changing conditions Report hazards, incidents, or maintenance needs immediately

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50100 lbs. regularly Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, and varying weather conditions Why Work at
