Job Description

  • Job Title: 1st Shift Material Handler
  • Job Description
  • The 1st Shift Material Handler supports manufacturing operations by safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the facility, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring production lines receive timely and correct supplies.

This role involves operating material handling equipment, using RF scanners and ERP systems, and contributing to a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Transport raw materials, parts, and finished products throughout the facility to designated areas, including the production floor, warehouse, and shipping areas.

+ Supply production lines with the materials needed to meet manufacturing schedules and ensure uninterrupted production.

+ Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts and promptly reporting discrepancies to the supervisor.

+ Properly label and store materials in assigned locations, optimizing storage space and ensuring easy accessibility.

+ Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with all safety guidelines.

+ Use RF scanners to track materials moving in and out of inventory and to record storage locations within the manufacturing warehouse.

+ Document and track where materials are stored, what is being stored, and identify items that are low in stock to help maintain adequate inventory levels.

+ Support loading and unloading of shipments and ensure materials are delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by following safety procedures and OSHA regulations.

+ Identify and report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or near-miss incidents to the supervisor immediately.

+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.

+ Collaborate with production, warehouse, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth material flow and resolve issues as they arise.

  • Essential Skills
  • + 1-2 years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or HVAC-related industry.

+ Experience working in an HVAC or manufacturing environment.

+ Hands-on experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

+ Proficiency using RF scanners to track inventory movements and storage locations.

+ Ability to document and track inventory locations, quantities, and stock levels accurately.

+ Familiarity with ERP systems for inventory and materials management; experience with EPICOR is a plus.

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory control and documentation.

+ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders.

+ Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to safely operate tools and equipment.

+ Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment.

  • + Knowledge of HVAC systems or manufacturing processes.

+ Experience supporting production operations through material handling and logistics.

+ Exposure to industrial or sheet metal fabrication environments.

+ Comfort working with modern, technology-driven manufacturing systems and Industry 4.0 environments.

  • The role is based in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that incorporates Industry 4.

0 technology and features air-conditioned production areas. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The work involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders, as well as lifting and moving up to 35 pounds. The position requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment. Personal protective equipment is required and must be used in accordance with safety procedures and OSHA regulations. The environment supports industrial and manufacturing operations, with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the facility.

  • This is a Permanent position based out of Mesa, AZ.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $20.

00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
