As a Dockhand at Patagonia Lake, you'll be at the center of the action—helping guests get out on the water safely and smoothly while keeping the marina running at its best. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role in a beautiful outdoor setting. From assisting with boat launches and rentals to keeping the docks clean and organized, you'll play a key part in creating a positive, safe, and memorable experience for every visitor. We're looking for someone who is dependable, energetic, and comfortable working outdoors in changing conditions. You should enjoy working with people, staying active throughout your shift, and being part of a team that takes pride in great service and smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
Assist guests with launching, docking, and securing boats Support boat rental operations, including check-in, check-out, and basic instructions Operate boats and other equipment as requested in a safe and responsible manner Refuel boat as required adhering to all safety protocols Monitor dock activity to ensure safety and organization Keep docks, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and well-maintained Provide friendly, helpful information to visitors about the lake and marina services Assist with daily setup, breakdown, and operational tasks
Requirements:
Must be able to lift kayaks, boats and outboard motors in and out of the water. Possess line handling skills including ability to tie various knots, toss and cleat lines. Possess unlimited ability to swim and work safely around water or on ladders or in confined spaces. Must be able to bend, twist, squat and stand on feet for up to 8 hours per day. Previous experience in boating, customer service, or outdoor recreation is a plus, but not required.
