This is a full-time W-2 position with a defined pay increase and a path toward crew leadership as the company grows. This is not just a lifting job. Our crew enters customers' homes and businesses, handles their property, and represents our company during stressful cleanouts and moves. You must communicate respectfully, protect the customer's property, remain professional, and leave each job cleaner than you found it. Compensation and advancement $18 per hour during the initial 60-day introductory period. A $19 starting rate may be offered for verified towing, moving, junk-removal, or strong customer-service experience. Base pay increases to $21 per hour after successfully completing the 60-day written performance standards. Overtime is paid when applicable. Eligible field employees receive 100% of their allocated customer tips. Tips are divided equally among eligible field employees assigned to the job. Future Crew Lead/Route Coordinator opportunities pay $23-$27 per hour when positions become available and the employee meets the qualifications. Arizona earned paid sick time. Paid training and company-provided safety equipment. Schedule Guaranteed 35-40 paid hours per week. Work is primarily scheduled Wednesday through Sunday. Shifts may begin as early as 6:00 a.m. and end as late as 6:00 p.m. Two days off are assigned each week. Weekly schedules are normally provided at least seven days in advance. Employees report to the company's Tempe meeting location near 2058 E. Apache Blvd. at the beginning of each shift. Reliable transportation to and from the Tempe reporting location is required. Driving progression The first two weeks focus on safe loading, property protection, customer service, equipment procedures, and supervised truck-and-trailer familiarization. By the end of the second week, the employee is expected to qualify to drive the company's Ram 3500 and attached dump trailer. Driving begins only after company approval, satisfactory motor-vehicle-record review, required licensing verification, and confirmation of insurance eligibility. Responsibilities Greet customers professionally and communicate respectfully throughout the job. Listen carefully, confirm which items are authorized for removal, and immediately raise questions or concerns. Protect walls, floors, doors, landscaping, and other customer property. Safely lift, carry, load, secure, tarp, transport, unload, and dispose of approved items. Drive and maneuver the company truck and dump trailer after completing training and receiving authorization. Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections. Use safe lifting practices and work cooperatively with another crew member. Sort items for disposal, recycling, or donation according to company instructions. Sweep and clean the work area after loading. Take required before-and-after photographs and maintain accurate job records. Keep the truck, trailer, tools, and safety equipment clean and organized. Immediately report property damage, injuries, customer complaints, prohibited materials, or unsafe conditions. Customer-service standard Physical strength alone will not qualify someone for this position. Successful employees are polite, calm, honest, presentable, and comfortable speaking with customers. Poor customer service, disrespectful behavior, careless property handling, or failure to communicate can prevent successful completion of the introductory period. Requirements Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor-vehicle record. Ability to satisfy the company's commercial-auto insurance requirements. Willingness to complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening, as permitted by law. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to use a smartphone for schedules, navigation, job notes, and photographs. Ability to work inside homes and businesses and in outdoor Arizona conditions. Ability to work around dust, dirt, odors, pet hair, and ordinary nonhazardous waste. Willingness to work early mornings and weekends. Previous towing, moving, delivery, landscaping, warehouse, construction, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required. Physical requirements With or without reasonable accommodation, the employee must be able to: Repeatedly lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. Team-lift heavier furniture, appliances, and bulky items. Push, pull, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and remain on their feet for extended periods. Safely work outdoors in Arizona heat using required hydration, rest, and safety procedures. Employee-provided clothing Employees must arrive in clean, work-ready jeans or other approved durable work pants and suitable work boots. Phoenix Valley Junk Removal provides required personal protective and safety equipment. The 60-day pay increase requires documented proficiency in: Attendance and punctuality. Professional customer service. Safe truck-and-trailer operation. Safe lifting, loading, securement, and unloading. Property-damage prevention. Following safety and prohibited-material procedures. Accurate communication, photographs, and job documentation. Honest reporting of mistakes, damage, and safety concerns. To apply, include: Your current work availability. A brief description of your driving and trailer-towing experience. An example of how you handled a difficult customer or stressful situation. Why you believe you would be dependable in a physically demanding customer-service position. Phoenix Valley Junk Removal is an equal-opportunity employer. Employment is contingent upon completing the company's lawful screening and onboarding requirements.
