Wally's Distribution is a dynamic third-party logistics (3PL) company that provides top-tier fulfillment services to a variety of clients. We are looking for a proactive and organized Warehouse Receiving Lead to oversee the receiving process and ensure accurate and timely handling of shipments. This key role works closely with various teams to ensure that all goods are efficiently received, inventoried, and stored, while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.Position Overview:
The Warehouse Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt of incoming shipments in a 3PL (third-party logistics) environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that products are received, inventoried, and stored properly in the warehouse, in alignment with client expectations and operational standards. A strong focus on process improvement, safety, and compliance is essential to ensure a seamless receiving process and contribute to overall warehouse efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Receiving Operations- Manage and coordinate the receiving of incoming shipments, ensuring that all deliveries are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure that all shipments are received in accordance with company guidelines and customer expectations. Inspection and Documentation
- Verify the accuracy of received goods by inspecting shipments for damage, discrepancies, and compliance with purchase orders.
- Document and report any issues, such as discrepancies or damaged goods, promptly to management. Inventory Management
- Work closely with the inventory management team to ensure that received goods are accurately recorded in the inventory management system.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies between physical counts and system records, ensuring inventory accuracy. Communication and Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for receiving-related inquiries, coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and other warehouse departments to resolve issues.
- Ensure smooth communication with internal and external stakeholders to streamline receiving processes. Process Improvement
- Continuously evaluate and improve receiving processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving activities. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure that all receiving activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections in the receiving area and address any potential hazards. Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate receiving reports, logs, and records.
- Provide regular updates to warehouse management on receiving activities and identify opportunities for improvement. Equipment Management
- Ensure that all receiving equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, is properly maintained and used safely.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to management promptly. Problem Resolution
- Address and resolve any issues that arise during the receiving process, such as shipment discrepancies, damaged goods, or delays, in a timely and effective manner. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a 3PL environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season. Working Conditions
- This position may require occasional Sunday or evening work, depending on operational needs.
