General Labor / Machine Operator - Custom Manufacturing Job Description This role supports a custom manufacturing shop that builds expansion joints and related components. You will operate production machinery, follow established procedures to manufacture parts, and document all work accurately while adhering to strict safety protocols. The position involves hands-on general labor, machine operation, and assembly tasks within an industrial manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate a variety of production machines to manufacture expansion joints and associated parts according to established procedures. Follow written schematics, work instructions, and production documentation to ensure products meet required specifications. Perform general labor and assembly tasks, including using hand tools to build and assemble components. Set up machines for production runs, including basic adjustments and preparation of materials as required. Document all work performed, including production counts, process steps, and any issues encountered, in a clear and accurate manner. Adhere to all safety protocols and shop rules while working around machinery and production equipment. Inspect work in process for quality and accuracy, and report any defects or irregularities to the appropriate personnel. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations. Stand for extended periods while operating machines and performing production tasks throughout the shift. Essential Skills Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proven ability to operate production machinery and equipment safely and effectively. Machine set-up experience, including preparing equipment and materials for production runs. Ability to read and follow schematics, written instructions, and production documentation. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate manufacturing and documentation of work. Capability to perform general labor and assembly tasks using hand tools. Physical ability to stand for long periods of time in a production environment. Commitment to following safety protocols and procedures at all times. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with manufacturing operations in sectors such as aerospace, agriculture, or general manufacturing is beneficial. Familiarity with documentation writing and basic production recordkeeping. Comfort working with various hand tools and shop equipment. Work Environment This role is based in a custom manufacturing shop with a non-climate-controlled environment, where temperatures can be high due to operating machinery. You will work on a 2nd shift schedule from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, supporting the ERP department as a pressline operator and general machine operator. The environment is industrial and hands-on, with regular use of production machinery, hand tools, and standard manufacturing equipment. You will spend most of the shift standing and moving around the production area while following all safety and shop guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lodi, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
