Job Title:
Machine Operator / Warehouse Handler Job Description This role combines machine operation and general warehouse handling in a clean manufacturing environment. You will set up and operate a rainware roll former and slitter, perform basic preventive maintenance, handle materials throughout the facility, and support shipping, receiving, and inventory activities. The position requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and accuracy while working with various types of equipment and measurement tools. Responsibilities Set up and operate the rainware roll former and slitter in the shop, ensuring all functions of assigned machines and equipment run safely and efficiently. Adjust machine settings to accommodate different material thicknesses, clamp placements, and specific work order requirements. Read, interpret, and complete production orders accurately, ensuring that all required information and documentation are properly recorded. Inspect parts using tools such as tape measures, scales, calipers, and computerized measuring devices to verify that products meet quality and dimensional specifications. Perform secondary operations on manufactured parts, such as cleaning and preparing components as required for subsequent processes. Arrange parts and materials as needed for production, including placing raw stock, partially completed work, and finished jobs in appropriate storage or production areas. Perform basic preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to maintain optimal performance and reduce downtime. Conduct visual safety checks on machines to identify wear, damage to tooling, and to verify the correct positioning and functioning of safety guards. Assist other machine operators as needed to support production goals and maintain smooth workflow across the team. Support other departments with warehouse and production work, including material handling, order pulling, picking, packing, loading, unloading, and general warehouse operations. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently. Participate in shipping and receiving activities, including labeling, packaging, and staging orders for shipment. Use RF scanners and computer systems to support inventory control, cycle counts, and accurate tracking of materials and finished goods. Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for the assigned work areas. Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area to support safety, quality, and productivity. Essential Skills Experience operating manufacturing machinery such as roll formers, slitters, or similar production equipment. Ability to set up machines and make precise adjustments for different material thicknesses, clamp placements, and work order specifications. Proficiency in reading and completing production orders and related documentation accurately. Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, scales, calipers, and computerized measuring devices to inspect parts and verify dimensions. Material handling experience, including moving raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods within a warehouse or production environment. Forklift operating experience, including sit-down forklift operation, with a strong focus on safe equipment use. Hands-on experience with general warehouse operations such as order picking, packing, shipping, and receiving. Ability to perform basic preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control during production and inspection activities. Ability to operate equipment safely and follow established safety procedures and guidelines. Physical ability to stand and reach with hands and arms for extended periods and to walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed. Physical ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift, with assistance, up to 100 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with warehouse inventory control, including cycle counts and stock organization. Familiarity with RF scanners and basic computer skills for tracking inventory and processing orders. Background in shipping and receiving, including labeling, packaging, loading, unloading, and staging shipments. Ability to perform inventory control tasks such as labeling, counting, and verifying materials and finished goods. Experience using pallet jacks and other manual material handling equipment. Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment where priorities may shift during the day. Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist other operators and departments as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in a clean manufacturing facility that can be loud at times due to operating machinery. You will spend much of the day on your feet working around production equipment, forklifts, and other material handling tools such as pallet jacks and RF scanners. The environment combines shop-floor machine operation with warehouse activities such as shipping, receiving, picking, packing, loading, and unloading. Safety is a priority, and you will be expected to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for your assigned work areas and to follow all safety procedures. The facility supports structured hours that promote consistent scheduling and a predictable work routine. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcclellan, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
