Primary Role:

The Laborer will safely perform tasks related to preparing material for shipment or unloading. This may include metal product such as: Bars, Coils, Bar Rods, Sheets, Plates and other product form.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure safe working conditions and adherence to OSHA regulations in performance of all job functions. Perform duties as assigned by Supervisor and Terminal Manager. Secure and unsecure all metal material that the warehouse receives and ships out. Using proper procedures block and brace metal products. Use oil drum sprayer to oil bar stock materials as needed. Cut inbound seal on container doors, using bolt cutters. Cut all metal banding from inbound metals materials on the Load Roll Pallets (LRP's) and remove carefully to avoid damage. Dispose all metal banding in to designated dumpsters from ground level. Loosen chains and nylon straps and remove from LRP's and store supplies properly. Remove any bulkheads and prepare for eastbound return. Put all chains and binders in to the assigned LRPC (coil LRP). Sweep out empty containers. Notify supervisor of any incidents, accidents, damages, claims, mechanical or material issues immediately. Keep warehouse floors and facility yard clean and safe at all times. Wear all proper safety attire (steel

•toed boots, gloves, long sleeved shirts and full length cotton pants, safety glasses and any other safety attire that is assigned by the floor supervisor) and ensure proper personal protectiveequipment is in good repair and worn in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policy.

Knowledge:

Familiarity or experience with logistics, metal, transportation, intermodal, and warehousing industries preferred Knowledge and ability to work with hand tools, chains, metal binders, and power saw to cut wood

Pay:

$19.50

•$20.00 per hour
