A Brief Overview:
Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of items,storing and preparation for delivery and otherwise transporting of items to and from the warehouse and various other assigned locations. This position also loads product into vehicle and stores product within designated areas within the warehouse and adjusts storage areas according to warehouse requirements, while updating location database. Employees must abide by all Joint Commission requirements including, but not limited to, sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patients' rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings. Stores product by designating storage areas; adjusting storage areas as needed and updating location database. Use moving equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to safely and efficiently move items. Inspects incoming items for damages before storing or rerouting. Coordinates and integrates services within and with other departments by continually collaborating with departments' contact individual. Coordinates return shipments to departments in concert with SUMC Procurement, and other departments. Ensures proper handling, delivery, storage and accounting for equipment and records placed in warehouse storage. Ensures that all equipment received is properly inspected and tagged by appropriate staff before delivery or installation in a department. Ensures that procedures are developed and implemented to provide for the timely processing of receipts to and issues from the Warehouse inventory in accordance with the requirements of the Warehouse Information Systems and appropriate manuals. Ensures that the warehouse and loading dock areas are maintained in a safe, neat and clean condition, and the corridors are kept clear of supplies, equipment and trash. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience Qualifications One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to adapt to and deal with change and ambiguity. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines. Ability to solve problems and identify solutions. Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job. Ability to work in a fast paced work environment. Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area. Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility.
