Full Job Description Starting Pay:
$24.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 6AM to 2:30
PM Position Summary Description:
Primarily responsible to deliver short items and fix orders for customers. Drives refrigerated truck over established route to deliver grocery products into customer establishments. Responsible for collecting payments from customers, order discrepancy reporting, customer complaint resolution, and daily truck inspection and maintenance. Unloads containers of incoming freight and palletizes items for placement into warehouse.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates delivery vehicles to deliver food items, beverages, paper products, and cleaning supplies to customer's place of business. Unloads products from delivery vehicles using a pallet truck, cart, or hand truck, and places stock on customer's shelves or racks. Preserves product quality and minimizes damages during delivery. Collects checks from customers and records transactions on customer receipt and delivery records. Writes and reports any damages or discrepancies on orders delivered. Collects or picks up empty containers, pallets or rejected or unsold merchandise. Performs daily inspection of truck and general maintenance, including fueling and cleaning. Verifies short items and fix orders ae accurate prior to delivery using invoice. Inspects for damage products prior to delivery. Assists in the warehouse building pallets according to company standards. Assists in the warehouse to sort products and groups like items together, by product number or description of cases. Assists in the warehouse to remove packing materials and clean out empty containers. Assists in the warehouse to ensure all products are free from damage and/or pest infestation. Follows established safety standards for proper food handling. Assists with general housekeeping in the warehouse. Assists in the warehouse to perform similar and related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager. May assist in the receiving area or with Will Call orders as needed. Adheres to all Federal and State driver guidelines. Performs similar and related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager. Use the Company's Mission/Vision Statements and Core Values as their guiding principles.
Qualifications:
Two years of delivery route experience and possess familiarity with local roadways and townships within the route area. One year of distribution or warehouse experience, preferably in the food-service industry.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry objects from floor to waist weighing up to 80 lbs. Non CDL Driver applicants are required to submit a copy of their Driver History Record with their application if selected. Driver History Record must have been issued within the past 30 days from date of application.
