  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on safely handling, processing, and decontaminating containerized waste at a large solvent treatment, storage, and recycling facility. You will perform general labor tasks, support waste receiving operations, and ensure containers are properly cleaned, documented, and prepared for disposal or recycling in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Assist with the receiving of waste materials and ensure they are properly identified, documented, and directed to the correct processing area.

+ Decontaminate empty drums and containers using established procedures and safety protocols.

+ Create and complete manifest forms accurately to support regulatory compliance and proper tracking of waste materials.

+ Perform manual labor tasks related to cleaning and decontamination of containers and work areas.

+ Load and unload containers, including totes, drums, tankers, and trailers, in a safe and efficient manner.

+ Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and containers in accordance with RCRA and disposal guidelines.

+ Handle material movement within the warehouse, including picking, sorting, scanning, and basic inventory support.

+ Use RF scanners and other warehouse equipment to track and process materials.

+ Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

+ Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support smooth daily operations.

  • Essential Skills
  • + At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, production plant, transloading operation, oil and gas setting, or airport tarmac work.

+ Proven experience with material handling and general labor tasks in an industrial or warehouse setting.

+ Ability to perform picking, sorting, scanning, and basic inventory-related activities.

+ Comfort working with RF scanners and other warehouse technology.

+ Strong focus on safety and adherence to established safety procedures.

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Computer literacy, including the ability to use email (such as Gmail) and collaboration tools (such as Teams) without assistance.

+ Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving, and decontaminating containers.

+ Willingness to work third shift hours after completing the training period.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience in solvent handling, waste processing, or recycling operations is a plus.

+ Familiarity with RCRA regulations and disposal guidelines is highly beneficial.

+ Previous warehouse experience involving inventory control and scanning systems.

+ Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation.

+ Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

+ Comfort working in outdoor conditions across varying weather.

+ Interest in developing skills that support progression into advanced material handler and distillation roles.

  • Work Environment
  • The role is based at a 24/7 outdoor warehouse facility, and you must be comfortable working in an outdoor environment in varying weather conditions.

Initial training occurs on the day shift for approximately 3 to 6 months, providing hands-on experience with waste receiving, container decontamination, and warehouse processes. After training, the position transitions to third shift, typically from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. The facility uses RF scanners and other warehouse equipment in a high-activity, industrial setting where safety procedures are strictly followed. Attire should be appropriate for an outdoor industrial environment, with emphasis on safety and protection while working around containers, drums, and heavy equipment.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $25.

00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
