Summary of Position:
In the position of a Mine Process Production Crew, you will be primarily responsible for supporting process production at the mine site located in Ouray, CO. You will also be responsible for supporting mine operations as needed as general labor.
Essential Functions:
Construction Period:
Assist in the construction and fabrication of mine process circuit Be able to take instruction and independently perform tasks Be able to handle small to medium sized tools without supervision Able to handle construction related activities with minimal supervision Construction period expected to be up to 60 days Prepared to work in a safe environment and adhere to mine safety plan including wearing of PPE. Follow procedures for development of mine concentrate as directed by Mine Superintendent Production Phase Assist and manage the flow of materials throughout production circuit Assist in QA/QC procedures to ensure finished production meets specifications Active participation in the non-chemical mine process circuit. (site has chemicals on premises, no toxic chemicals are used in the circuit) Prepared to work in a safe environment and adhere to mine safety plan including wearing of PPE. Follow procedures for development of mine concentrate as directed by Mine Superintendent The above items are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all accountabilities and duties.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Possess a positive attitude and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and hands-on mining environment. Have a strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity. Have the ability to analyze problems and determine solutions. Must pass physical examination and be able to be MSHA safety certified (paid MSHA training provided). High School Diploma or equivalent. Have the ability to regularly work at high altitude (11,000 feet+). Maintain a valid Driver's license & Clean Driving Record. Possess good communication skills, written & verbal. Be self-motivated. Exposure to or experience in the mining industry is preferred but not required. Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate with the ability to communicate with others be it verbal, written, handheld radios, mine radios, or any other type of communication necessary for the safe completion of the task. Ability to function within a team environment, and work closely with peers at all levels with a professional attitude.
Preferred:
Maintain a CDL Drivers License with Hazardous Materials Endorsement.
Preferred:
Hold the MSHA Part 48 Safety Certification.
Preferred:
2 years of mining production experience.
Work Environment:
The work environment is both indoor and outdoor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme cold/hot conditions, occasionally exposed fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment may be moderate to high and appropriate hearing protection may be needed and required. While the job duties are primarily indoors in an office environment the Company is a mining and the employee will be expected at times to be exposed to all work environments.
Health and Safety:
When required the employee is expected to always wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while in a production environment (hard hat, safety belt, self-rescue respiratory device, steel toed boots/metatarsal protection, reflective visible clothing) or as required for a specific job duty. Ensure that all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines are followed. Support the site safety culture through leadership and regularly engaging with and holding the workforce accountable for safe work practices . Participate in health and safety meetings and risk reviews as required.
Physical Demands:
Must demonstrate the following physical demands: Lift and potentially carry up to 50 lbs. Operate a vehicle with a valid driver's license Climb stairwells and be capable of working on elevated platforms Walk on uneven ground Periodically work in adverse weather conditions Sit or stand for extended periods of time Stay alert during periods of inactivity The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hand, and wrists.
Note:
Heavy equipment skills, such as operating loaders, excavators, and other off-highway equipment, would be considered an asset for this position.
