General Laborer Job Description This role supports daily production and shipping operations by stacking panels, building pallets, and preparing materials for shipment. You will work with hand and power tools, handle materials safely, and use basic computer systems and barcode scanners as part of an organized, fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Stack panels into bundles, ensuring they nest together properly and securely. Build pallets using hand and power tools to support panel stacking and shipment preparation. Pack and prepare pallets for shipping, including hand binding, metal strapping, and secure wrapping of materials. Use barcode scanners and computer systems, including SAP, to track, label, and process materials accurately. Perform general production and material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, and staging products. Label and organize finished goods and materials to maintain an efficient and orderly production area. Follow all safety procedures when using hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment. Support general warehouse and manufacturing activities as needed to meet production and shipping deadlines. Lift and move materials, with assistance as needed, to support continuous production flow. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to maintain smooth operations on the production floor. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in general labor, general production, warehouse, manufacturing, or other hands-on light industrial work. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance. Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment, including hot conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter. Basic computer skills and comfort using computer systems. Ability to learn and use SAP and barcode scanning technology. Strong attention to detail when stacking, packing, labeling, and preparing pallets for shipment. Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled hours with overtime as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with packaging, labeling, and preparing materials for shipment. Familiarity with RF scanners for tracking and processing inventory. Background in material handling, including loading and unloading materials. Experience in general production or manufacturing environments. Comfortable with heavy lifting and repetitive physical tasks. Ability to work effectively in hot environments. Work Environment The position is based on a standard shop floor that is well lit, clean, and organized into production lines. The environment is non-climate controlled, which means it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You will work around hand tools, power tools, pallets, and material handling equipment, and may work near or with forklifts. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some built-in overtime; during busy periods, the standard workday may extend to around 4:00 p.m. or later depending on business needs, especially in the summer. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bristol, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
