Job Description

Warehouse Associate
  • Breakpack Monday
  • Friday | 7:00 AM
  • 3:30 PM $17.
25 per hour Overtime may be required during peak business periods Staples is focused on our customers and our community. As a Warehouse Order Picker (Breakpack) , you'll help the distribution center meet its goals by selecting product, packing totes, cutting cases of merchandise and stocking product. To help you be successful, you'll also receive three to eight weeks of on-the-job training.

After applying, engage in a brief conversation via text (typically same day) to schedule an interview We'll let you know if you're not eligible to move forward In‑person interviews are conducted at the Killingly Distribution Center Play an active role in helping your distribution center and your customer win: Retrieve and prep merchandise, stock product, and move full totes and cases onto conveyor belt Meet daily production goals Stack empty pallets in return bays up to eight pallets high Use pallet pulling hook to retrieve stuck pallets of product with a force of 50 lbs Use tools and equipment such as: computer terminal, writing instruments, RF Scanners, Pick to Voice technology, Pick to Cart technology or other methods, depending in specific facility, cutting knife, wheeled cart, U boat, portable ladder, apron, and others as required Ability to work in hot environment of approximately 95 degrees F at upper levels during the summer and able to work with seasonal temperature variations Assist in other departments and perform a variety of other duties as assigned Essential skills and experience: Able to work Monday-Friday 7:00 am
  • 3:30 pm Demonstrated regular attendance and must have the ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need Ability to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to a maximum of 62 lbs.
by hand, and work at average heights of up to 8-9 feet, but up to 30 feet at times, and around a conveyor belt system Perform moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity, regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, pull/push, twist, reach, climb ladders, and crouch Ability to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury and damage to product within our safety culture Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time Able to work with moderate noise levels and operate warehouse equipment Basic English language, reading, and writing skills; basic math and data entry Detail-oriented, ability to follow directions, and collaborate with other team members Pass a background check and drug screen Staples does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position Preferred skills and experience: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
