Job Summary:
Logan Steel is seeking diligent and motivated Material Handlers to join our Laser Department. This is a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by supporting the unloading and organization of materials cut by our high-speed laser. The Material Handler will be responsible for unloading, skidding, scrapping, organizing skids, cleaning parts as needed, and moving pallets and parts throughout the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently unload materials cut by the laser and organize them for further processing. Skid and scrap materials as necessary, ensuring optimal use of resources. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by cleaning parts and organizing skids. Safely operate a forklift to move pallets and parts around the shop. Accurately use and read measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers to ensure precision in handling materials. Collaborate with team members to meet productivity goals and maintain workflow efficiency. Assist laser operators and team as necessary.
Qualifications:
Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer. Proven experience operating a forklift in a shop or industrial setting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials as required by the job.
