Job Description
Description:
Moves materials using carts, overhead cranes, forklifts, or other methods needed to ensure materials are delivered to required locations for fabrication and welding. Perform such work consistent with the company mission and values and produces a product that meets recognized standards and customer expectations by maintaining Quality and Safety procedures. This is a safety-sensitive position. A safety-sensitive position has been defined as one where the employee's responsibilities impact the health and safety of themselves, coworkers, and/or the public (in this case the end-user of our product). All production and production support positions fall into this category.Prerequisites:
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening test
- Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics
- Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance with the ability to work overtime and weekends
- Possesses strong sense of urgency
- Can work independently and/or as a cooperative team player
- Willingly takes direction from supervisory personnel
- Adheres to quality procedures and demonstrates strong safety awareness and prevention
- Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds Essential Functions
- Must be certified to operate overhead cranes and forklifts
- Must be able to rig properly
- Performs duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to, cleaning, trash scrap removal, and other production related tasks
- Support the Crystal Steel Lean Initiative through active engagement and participation in continuous process improvement projects based in Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Assist in the collection of data, participate in RIE workshops, and contribute to the implementation of solutions, replicate successful improvements, share lessons learned and provide feedback on opportunities for change that will further the continuous improvement process.
- Consistently exceed goals as communicated by supervision
- Comply with Health and Safety, Environmental and Lean manufacturing policies, and procedures
- Maintains positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors
- Works in a safe and conscientious manner
