Job Title:
General Laborer Job Description The General Laborer supports daily production by building crates and pallets, preparing materials for shipment, and safely using hand and power tools. This role plays a key part in ensuring products are properly packaged, labeled, and ready for on-time delivery. Responsibilities Build wooden crates and pallets according to specifications and production requirements. Add and apply stickers and labels to production crates to prepare them for shipment. Safely operate hand and power tools, including saws and screwguns, to cut, assemble, and secure materials. Inspect finished crates and pallets for quality, stability, and accuracy of labels before shipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when using tools and handling materials. Assist with general labor tasks as needed to support production and shipping operations. Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet daily production goals. Essential Skills At least 6 months of general labor experience. Experience in construction or manufacturing environments preferred. Practical knowledge of hand tools and power tools, including safe operation. Ability to use saws, screwguns, and similar tools to assemble materials. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods. Attention to detail when building crates and pallets and applying shipment labels. Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior work in construction or manufacturing is a strong plus. Comfort working with a variety of hand and power tools in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn and adapt to changing production needs. Reliability and strong work ethic with a focus on completing tasks accurately and on time. Why Work Here? Paid time off begins after the first two months and is prorated for the first year, with 40 hours in year one and 80 hours in year two, resetting each January 1. Work Environment You work in a 55,000-square-foot, open-bay production facility without air conditioning, supported by large industrial fans for airflow. The environment is hands-on and tool-driven, with frequent use of hand tools and power tools such as saws and screwguns. The schedule runs Monday through Thursday with no weekend shifts. Appropriate safety footwear is required, supported by an annual safety shoe credit. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clearwater, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
