Job Description
The Senior Dockhand is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations at the assigned operation. As the link between the dock and the dock manager, the role is of high importance to secure the functionality of the operation of the company. The duties include tasks that aim to increase effectiveness and to build a solid structure for the dock itself. The senior dock hand shall be mindful of service— to ensure that we provide the best member experience possible. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the assigned location. Acts as a leader and role model for team and associated tasks Primary point person for member interaction Responsible for cleanliness of assets and overall location Working in conjunction with Dock Manager to create and manage scheduling Working in conjunction with Dock Manager for recruiting and hiring activities Ensure all employees are completing thorough inspections of assets and all damages Ensuring location is covered with adequate staff Inventory management for assigned location Responsible for reporting all internal maintenance and service needs to appropriate team Logging and reporting all corrective actions to Dock Manager (i.e. showing up late, inappropriate use of vessels, inappropriate interaction with members etc.) Responsible for making any staffing adjustments due to inclement weather or low reservation volume Enforce employee conduct and rules Ensure implementation of new rules and processes are being followed at the dock. It's expected that the Senior Dockhand shall attain a management role where decisions are to be focused on the overall effectiveness at the location. The location manager will be held accountable for faulty operations of which having trustworthy and conscientious employees at dock positions is of high importance. The role will require bold decision making and leadership skills to motivate staff and maintain high level quality at the docks. Boating experience preferred, management experience required. Previous marina and/or dock experience a plus! ' '
