Job Description

Job Title:
Concrete General Laborer (Day Shift) Job Description The General Laborer supports daily block manufacturing operations by overseeing block production, stacking and loading finished product, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. This role involves operating and monitoring block-making machinery, performing repetitive physical tasks, and assisting with order preparation in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Oversee daily block operation to support consistent and efficient production. Stack and load block safely and accurately onto pallets, trucks, or designated storage areas. Monitor and operate block-making machinery as needed, following all safety and operating procedures. Unload finished product from conveyors and move materials to the appropriate locations. Assist in creating orders and pulling tickets to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment. Perform general labor tasks including sweeping, housekeeping, and cleaning the facility as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. Work flexible hours, including both day and night shifts, to support production demands. Stand, walk, lift, and perform physical labor for extended periods during 10-12 hour shifts. Demonstrate strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability to support team and production schedules. Essential Skills Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, 6 days per week. Willingness to work up to 72 hours weekly based on production needs. Openness to working both day and night shifts and adjusting to changing schedules. Ability to operate, monitor, and support block-making machinery in a manufacturing environment. Comfort with repetitive, physical labor and manual handling tasks. Ability to unload finished product from conveyors safely and efficiently. Willingness to perform general labor tasks including sweeping and housekeeping. Ability to stand, walk, lift, and work on feet for extended periods of time. Flexibility on start times and shift changes to meet operational requirements. Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic. Ability to work safely with hand tools and basic equipment. Experience or comfort working in construction, concrete, or similar labor-intensive environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous block manufacturing or block-handling experience preferred but not required. Familiarity with construction, concrete, or solar-related work is a plus. The environment can be hot, and you will stand and walk for long periods while performing physical labor. Work involves exposure to typical outdoor and industrial conditions associated with block, construction, and concrete operations, with a focus on safe and efficient use of machinery, conveyors, and hand tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Haines City, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
