PBCFB rescues and mobilizes food donations from local farmers, food distributors, retailers, and restaurants. The rescued food is allocated to our vast network of over 200 social service agencies, helping address food insecurity in the county. PBCFB is strongly committed to the nutritional success of children, seniors, and families.
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Palm Beach County Food Bank's warehouse. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for maintaining the warehouse, and ensuring proper handling, storage, and movement of food inventory.
Responsibilities:
Loading and unloading trucks Maintain the integrity of products through proper inspection, handling, and storage procedures Stock storage spaces, rearrange and restack products Assist with display of inventory Assist with physical inventory of products Assist with weighing of products Maintain proper storage separation of food and non-food items Perform sanitation duties as assigned Continuously check inventory for expiration dates, any signs of contamination, or other signs of unsafe distribution Communicate suggestions, ideas, improvements, and other constructive feedback to management Perform miscellaneous tasks in support of warehouse management as required Provide information to agencies as needed Participate in the implementation of Sanitation Guidelines and Standards Advise management of the need for repairs of facility and equipment Advise management of any safety and/or sanitation violations Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in related field preferred Must be able to function in a team environment and follow directions of senior team members and supervisor Ability to work well with all levels of management Ability to work weekends and overtime when required Experience operating electric pallet jack Experience operating forklift; forklift certification preferred (will train for certification) Ability to successfully complete training pertaining to the safe operation of warehouse equipment and machinery, including obtaining Forklift Safety Certification Must have basic Math Skills Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English fluently, bilingual/Spanish a plus Ability to complete required paperwork and prepare reports accurately Capable of working under pressure, completing various assignments responsibly and in a timely manner Motivated to work Positive attitude Must have reliable transportation to and from worK Physical Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to balance, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, see, and perform repetitive motions. This is a physically demanding position requiring the employee to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate machinery (forklifts and pallet jacks).
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. May require some evenings and additional weekend work depending on community events.
