Job Description

Overview Join Logistec as a Part Time Equipment Operator and play a hands-on role in keeping terminal operations moving. In this exciting position, the Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of material-handling equipment in support of vessel, terminal, warehouse, and yard operations. This position may operate forklifts of various capacities, yard trucks, and other terminal equipment, as well as perform general labor duties as required. This is a casual position, with work assignments based on operational needs, vessel schedules, cargo volumes, and available work. Responsibilities What your looks like as
Equipment Operator:
Operate various forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. Operate yard trucks to move trailers, chassis, and other equipment throughout the terminal. Hook, pull, position, and spot trailers as directed. Load, unload, move, stage, and organize cargo within the terminal, warehouse, and yard. Assist with vessel loading and discharge operations as assigned. Perform general stevedoring and terminal labor duties as required. Assist with securing, un securing, handling, and positioning cargo. Conduct routine pre-use inspections of forklifts, yard trucks, and other assigned equipment. Report equipment defects, damage, unsafe conditions, or cargo concerns to supervision immediately. Follow all terminal, vessel, customer, and company safety procedures. Maintain awareness of pedestrians, other equipment, vessel operations, and changing work conditions. Keep work areas, equipment, and cargo staging areas clean and orderly. Assist other departments and crews as directed by supervisors or foremen. Perform additional duties related to terminal and stevedoring operations as required Qualifications To succeed as Equipment Operator you must have: Previous experience operating forklifts or heavy equipment preferred. Previous stevedoring, warehouse, terminal, shipping, or industrial experience preferred. Ability to safely operate various types and sizes of forklifts. Ability to operate a yard truck and maneuver trailers safely in a busy terminal environment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts based on vessel and terminal operations. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety. Why Logistec? US Qualifications:
