We buy, sell, prepare, and deliver commercial kitchen equipment for restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, and other food-service operations. We are hiring one experienced, dependable person to join our warehouse team. About the Position This is a hands-on utility warehouse position—not a traditional job centered on moving boxes, putting products on shelves, or operating a forklift all day. Our equipment is large, heavy, mechanical, and often used. The person in this position will move between receiving equipment, organizing inventory, preparing customer orders, loading and unloading, cleaning equipment, documenting inventory, assisting with deliveries, and completing basic equipment preparation. Daily priorities are reviewed during our morning meeting. After receiving direction, the employee should be able to recognize what needs attention, remain productive, and move between assignments without constant supervision. Primary Responsibilities Receive and inspect incoming commercial restaurant equipment. Report damage, missing parts, and other equipment concerns. Identify, label, photograph, and properly place equipment into inventory. Keep equipment parts, accessories, shelves, knobs, and hardware together. Organize inventory, staging areas, tools, supplies, and warehouse workspaces. Prepare sold equipment and customer orders for pickup or delivery. Load and unload heavy commercial equipment safely. Assist with customer deliveries, equipment pickups, and removals. Install casters, handles, shelves, knobs, doors, and other basic components. Reassemble equipment and complete minor nontechnical repairs or adjustments. Help keep the warehouse, tools, forklifts, dollies, and company vehicles clean and ready for use. Perform other Advantage warehouse duties based on the day's priorities. Remain open to learning additional warehouse, inventory, logistics, and equipment skills. Equipment Cleaning Heavy cleaning is part of this position, although it is not the primary responsibility. The employee must be willing to work with dirty and greasy used restaurant equipment. Cleaning duties may include pressure washing, degreasing, scraping buildup, and preparing equipment for testing, inventory, or sale. Schedule This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday position. The workday is not always limited to 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Some days may begin earlier or run later depending on deliveries, pickups, equipment removals, and warehouse needs. Occasional overtime may be required. Hours worked over 40 in a workweek are paid at the applicable overtime rate. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license Acceptable driving record Reliable transportation to our Sanford warehouse Ability to lift at least 50 pounds independently Ability to help move substantially heavier equipment using a team and proper material-handling equipment Ability to bend, kneel, stand, walk, push, pull, and perform physical work throughout the day Comfortable working in a non-air-conditioned warehouse and outdoors Comfortable working around grease, dirt, cleaning chemicals, and used restaurant equipment Willingness to work variable starting and ending times Professional appearance and respectful communication Strong reliability, punctuality, honesty, initiative, teamwork, attention to detail, and commitment to safety Preferred Experience Commercial restaurant equipment experience is strongly preferred. Previous warehouse or material-handling experience Experience moving appliances, HVAC equipment, machinery, furniture, or other heavy items Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, appliance dollies, liftgates, straps, and related equipment Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using common hand tools Delivery-assistance or job-site experience Previous forklift or material-handling experience is helpful, but Advantage will train the right employee on our equipment and procedures. Customer Interaction This employee will represent Advantage during customer pickups, warehouse visits, deliveries, and equipment removals. Professional conduct, respectful communication, and good customer service are required. Compensation and Benefits $17-$18 per hour, based on experience Overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek Select paid holidays according to company policy No additional benefits are currently offered Workwear Employees must initially provide their own: Steel-toed shoes Appropriate work pants Suitable work clothing Company work shirts are normally provided after successful completion of the 90-day introductory period. Screening Requirements Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of: DMV record check Background check Drug screening 90-Day Introductory Period This position includes a 90-day introductory period. During that time, we will evaluate attendance, punctuality, safety, work quality, productivity, initiative, teamwork, communication, care of equipment and tools, and the employee's ability to follow direction and work independently. Opportunity to Learn and Grow The right person will have opportunities to learn more about commercial restaurant equipment, inventory handling, order preparation, warehouse operations, deliveries, and logistics. Growth will depend on performance, reliability, willingness to learn, and company needs.
