Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable candidate with physical stamina, a basic knowledge of tools, and the initiative to complete basic tasks independently to assist our glaziers and installers on residential and commercial glass installations. This position can provide you with general construction skills, trade-specific skills, opportunities to advance, and the experience to jump-start a career in the glazing industry. Serious candidates who are eager to learn a trade and advance within the company will be able to do so quickly; likewise, candidates who are not interested in learning new skillsets will remain as general labor help with advancement in pay-grade that is proportional to performance. Responsibilities Performing general labor tasks as instructed by superiors. Loading and unloading glass, aluminum materials, tools, equipment etc. Assisting other workers when needed for lifting, loading, and/or installation. Reading and interpreting work orders and/or checklists in order to load the service truck with the job-specific materials that are labeled accordingly and stored in the shop. Cleaning and organizing work areas, work trucks, and shop areas. Learning and applying techniques for cutting and/or installing various types of glass, including annealed, tempered, laminated, and insulated glass. Coordinate with and assist team members to complete tasks efficiently when working toward the completion of project. Assisting with removal/disposal of existing windows and installation of new windows in residential and commercial applications. Accompanying experienced installers on various service calls paying attention to detail while assisting and/or observing in order to learn and eventually complete basic work orders and residential installations independently. Using basic power tools to complete assigned tasks such as frame fabrication or assembly as instructed. Using hand tools to cut glass and/or prep frames with gasketing or caulking as instructed.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to safely lift 80lbs (for reference, 1 bag of QuikCrete) unassisted. Must be able to
WORK OUTDOORS DAILY.
Must be RELIABLE and DEPENDABLE, especially in terms of attendance. Unexcused callouts are grounds for immediate dismissal, as your attendance will directly affect our scheduled jobs. Time-off needs to be scheduled at least 48-hours in advance. Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Applicants with a valid driver's license are preferred. Applicants who can accurately read a tape measure are preferred. Verified experience and preferred requirements will directly influence entry-level pay grade.
