Responsible for operating powered industrial equipment or pallet trucks to perform all material handling assignments. These include, but are not limited to, identification and transportation of material to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, and into or out of trailer 2nd Shift M-Th 4p-2aResponsibilities:
Familiarizes self with productive capacity of machines or loading schedule of shipping services to ensure prompt delivery of items to proper destination. Uses snips to open loads as well as remove strapping and wrapping. Ensures safe disposal in designated containers and areas. Places protective materials around load and uses hand or automatic strapping equipment to secure loads for final shipment to customers. Removes empty skids and stacks skids in designated areas. Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull, load, and move merchandise and all documents specific to each type of merchandise. Completes cleaning duties throughout and at the end of the shift. Completes safety check on equipment prior to usage including but not limited to battery, brakes, lift controls, and computer. Required to operate labeling equipment, heavy machinery, and powered industrial equipment. Employees shall follow all GMP & Food safety requirements. Must be able to meet production standards of quota for the function being performed. Perform other duties as required or directed.Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Familiarity with warehouse and/or distribution facility. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to multi-task. Basic knowledge of computer functionality. Good eye/hand coordination and motor functions Basic reading, writing, and mathematic skills. Strong attention to detail. Education, Training, and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have prior warehouse/distribution experience. Must have forklift or other powered equipment experience.Physical Requirements:
This position requires good hand/eye coordination and motor functions for computer keyboards, driving forklifts etc. This position requires standing- 98 % of shift, lifting/bending
- 50 %, working in 35-degree environment
- 75 % and walking
- 25% of shift.
