Job Title:
Manufacturing Helper / General Laborer | 1st or 2nd Shift | $20-21/HR Job Description This role provides hands-on support across multiple production areas in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will assist with oven packing operations, material handling, and basic quality control to ensure products meet standards before shipment. The position requires reliability, a strong safety mindset, and comfort working in hot and dusty conditions within a unionized facility. Responsibilities Assist in various stages of the manufacturing process as production needs change. Pack and unload parts from industrial ovens in a safe and efficient manner. Remove finished parts from production lines and stage them for next steps. Perform quality control checks and visual inspections to identify defects or issues. Stack materials onto pallets in an organized, stable, and safe manner. Label boxes accurately for shipment or storage to ensure proper identification and tracking. Operate a vacuum hoist to lift, move, and position materials safely. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures and guidelines at all times. Work frequent and mandatory scheduled Saturdays, and be flexible to schedule changes such as potential four 10-hour shifts. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support smooth production flow. Essential Skills 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to lift 30+ pounds on a regular basis. Willingness to work overtime, including frequent scheduled Saturdays. Strong attention to detail for inspections and quality checks. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work safely and effectively in hot, dusty conditions. Comfort working in a fast-paced production and foundry-like environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality procedures. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a foundry-like manufacturing environment that is hot and dusty. The facility runs multiple shifts, with openings on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) and 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), and frequent mandatory Saturday work. The schedule may change to four 10-hour shifts depending on business needs. You will work around industrial ovens, production lines, and material handling equipment such as vacuum hoists. The role requires standing, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch period provided. As part of a union environment, you will pay monthly union dues and follow established workplace policies. Work boots and uniforms are provided to support a consistent and safe dress code suited to a heavy industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brook Park, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.32 - $21.32/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
