Job Description

Material Handler / Forklift Operator Warehouse | Manufacturing Shop | Full‑Time, M-F We're hiring Material Handlers / Forklift Operators to support daily warehouse and production flow in a growing manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, operating forklifts, and keeping materials moving safely and efficiently throughout the shop. No previous certifications required What You'll Be Doing (Primary Duties) Operate forklifts to: Load and unload materials Move product between production areas Stage materials for packaging and fabrication Organize and maintain inventory flow Support material handling and warehouse operations Work closely with production teams to keep materials available and organized Safely handle materials throughout the facility Perform routine equipment checks and follow safety procedures Additional Responsibilities (Secondary / Trained On) Use basic power and pneumatic tools (training provided) Assist with packaging line and shop support tasks Support production teams as needed during peak workloads Learn additional shop skills over time (optional welding/fabrication training offered) Physical & Skill Requirements Forklift‑oriented, hands‑on role Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day Ability to lift: 10-25 lbs frequently Up to 50 lbs regularly Comfortable bending, reaching, crouching, and walking Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) Ability to read a tape measure Willingness to learn warehouse and shop processes Nice‑to‑Have (Not Required) Prior forklift or material handling experience Manufacturing or warehouse experience Mechanical or fabrication exposure (No certifications, education, or prior experience required) Work Schedule 🕒 Monday

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00
  • $22.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
