Job Description

Job Overview Deese Express Cargo is seeking a dependable and hardworking Loader/Unloader to support daily freight handling, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, follows safety procedures, and can stay organized in a fast-paced environment. The Loader/Unloader will assist with loading and unloading shipments, moving packages and freight, organizing materials, and preparing outgoing shipments for transportation. Training will be provided, and previous warehouse or logistics experience is not required. Responsibilities Load and unload freight, packages, and shipments from trucks and delivery vehicles Move products safely between receiving, storage, staging, and shipping areas Sort incoming freight according to destination and delivery requirements Verify package counts, labels, and basic shipment information Inspect shipments for visible damage during receiving and loading Stage outgoing freight for scheduled pickups and deliveries Assist with preparing packages and shipments for transportation Use hand trucks, carts, pallet jacks, and other basic material-handling equipment as needed Organize freight and products in designated areas Assist with inventory organization and basic counts Keep loading, unloading, and staging areas clean and orderly Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly labeled shipments Follow proper lifting techniques and workplace safety procedures Communicate with warehouse and transportation team members regarding daily priorities Perform other warehouse and freight-handling duties as assigned Requirements Previous warehouse, freight, or loading experience is not required High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required Ability to safely lift and move packages and freight Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday Good attention to detail and safety Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn About the Position The Loader/Unloader plays an important role in keeping freight moving safely and efficiently. This position is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to gain practical experience in loading and unloading, shipping, receiving, freight handling, warehouse operations, and logistics.
Pay:
$21.90 - $22.70 per hour
