Job Summary We are looking for a motivated and reliable Summer Student Temporary Laborer to assist with general housekeeping, facility maintenance, yard upkeep, and organizational projects throughout our facility. This position provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and is ideal for students seeking practical work experience during the summer months. Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general yard maintenance, including clearing brush, trimming vegetation, and cleaning outdoor work areas.
- Assist with facility upkeep projects such as scraping old paint from walls and preparing surfaces for repainting.
- Support basic maintenance activities under the direction of supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Label, organize, and inventory shelves, storage areas, tools, and parts.
- Maintain cleanliness of production, warehouse, and common areas.
- Remove debris, waste materials, and scrap from work areas.
- Chip away and remove accumulated shot media and debris from the blast booth as required.
- Assist with moving materials, tools, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete other general labor duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in secondary school, college, university, or a skilled trades program.
- Ability to perform physical labor and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and working at heights safely.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous experience with general labor, landscaping, maintenance, or construction is considered an asset but not required.
