Description:
Position Overview The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and yard operations including receiving, loading, order fulfillment, equipment operation, and material handling. This role progresses from entry-level responsibilities to advanced receiving and loading functions based on experience and demonstrated skill. Associates are expected to follow standard operating procedures, maintain safety standards, and ensure accurate and timely customer order fulfillment. Essential Functions Follow established Standard Operating Procedures to perform assigned warehouse and yard duties. Accurately fulfill orders by Interpreting pick tickets, shipping documents, and work orders. Package and label outbound orders using proper banding, wrapping, and dunnage to ensure safe delivery. Load trucks and curtain vans in proper stop order, ensuring balanced weight distribution. Unload semi-trucks, containers, and dry vans containing products ranging from 8' to 48' in length. Operate forklifts ranging from 6,000 pound to 20,000 pound capacity (diesel or electric). Transport, stack, and stage materials in designated storage areas. Perform quality inspections of materials for damage, weathering, or discrepancies and report issues as required. Operate a chainsaw safely with proper PPE when required for specific product handling. Maintain yard and warehouse housekeeping, including covering product, removing debris, and ensuring safe storage conditions. Utilize barcode scanners, computer terminals, and warehouse systems to track inventory and process inbound and outbound materials. Provide support for receiving and loading operations at increasing levels of responsibility based on skill and experience. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support IWP's Vision, advance its Mission, and uphold the Organization's Values.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience Forklift experience preferred. Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to follow written, verbal, and visual instructions. Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Core Competencies Strong commitment to safety and operational procedures. Attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment. Physical stamina and ability to work in an outdoor yard environment. Team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position operates in a transportation and warehouse environment with regular exposure to weather. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, see, hear, and communicate. The role requires frequent use of hands and arms and the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
