Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description The General Production position plays a key role in supporting production operations by safely moving, storing, staging, and supplying materials throughout a busy manufacturing facility. This position involves performing various general tasks on a production floor for more than eight hours per day and transporting parts to the appropriate departments to keep workflows running smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Move, store, and stage materials throughout the manufacturing facility to support ongoing production operations. Push wheeled carts loaded with small parts across the production floor for 8+ hours per day. Transport parts and materials to the correct departments in a timely and accurate manner. Perform general warehouse duties such as picking, packing, and organizing materials as needed. Assist with general production tasks, including assembly work, to support manufacturing schedules. Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques for loads up to 50 pounds. Essential Skills At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a General Labor or General Production role. Ability to stand and walk consistently for more than 8 hours per day on the production floor. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly. Ability to push small parts on wheeled carts for extended periods. Reliability and consistency in meeting attendance and performance expectations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn new tasks and cross-train in different areas of production. Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and productivity. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Altamont, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
