WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE
1st Shift M-Thurs. (8:30am - 5pm) & Fri. (7am - 3:30pm) Batavia, IL Plant The Warehouse Associate is responsible for pulling raw materials for production, moving incoming raw materials to the correct location and for the preparation of outbound orders according to customer specifications.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Read orders and pull products from inventory. Enter data into the ERP computer system. Pack boxes to customer specifications. Stack boxes on skids, wrap and use proper placarding. Load and unload trucks with outbound and inbound freight. Unload tank wagons. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. As part of the housekeeping procedures, the employee may be involved with the disposal of hazardous waste. The initial training in how to properly dispose of hazardous waste will be performed by the Environmental and Safety Coordinator or the department supervisor. Annual training of the same will be performed by the Environmental and Safety Coordinator. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education level preferred: a high school diploma and/or GED. One to three years of work experience preferred and in a related field is preferred but not required Superb written and verbal communication skills Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system and other office machinery Works well in a team environment Excellent team building and communications skills Forklift Certification strongly preferred and Hazmat certifications (training will be provided) Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. Clean work habits and skill in handling large volumes of liquid and raw materials. Knowledge of the metric system, advanced math skills (specifically multiplication and division), and the ability to convert various measurements required. Ability to use the following tools preferred: Forklifts (sit down, stand-up and walk behind), freight elevator, drum grabbers, drum trucks, scales, gauges, wrenches, and ladders.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear, stand and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production facility. Safety shoes, glasses, respirators, fire retardant uniform and earplugs may be required when performing certain functions.
