- 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- 2nd shift 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift 11:00 PM to 7:00
AM Pay Range:
$18.00 to $19.00 per hourJob Overview:
This position provides the operation, including loading and unloading, of atmosphere-controlled and other types of heat-treating furnaces designed to heat treat, temper, and harden parts to meet specified hardness standards by following established procedures and processes. The focus of this position is to maintain a steady flow of product through this functional area with high regard to safety and quality.Responsibilities and Duties:
- Works safely in all aspects of operations and in all areas of responsibility.
- Adheres to Company Safety Policies and Programs such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Incident/Injury Reporting, and Hazard Communication and Labeling
- Safely shut down, start up and operate furnaces
- Monitors process controls to be certain the system is performing properly and immediately notifies supervision of issues
- Places parts in racks, trays, or baskets, and place objects on conveyor or load objects directly into furnace.
- Safely shut down and start up washers
- Safely perform generator start up and burn out
- Adjust tempering temperature to meet hardness requirements
- Performs troubleshooting of furnaces and thermocouple issues
- Loads and unloads furnaces
- Maintain the heat treat plant by preparing product going to outside vendors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization
- Safely utilizes electric pallet jack to move product
- Support team to achieve department and company goals
- Participate in continuous improvement programs
- Communicate production status and issues with other operators and supervisors
- Follow established procedures and processes
- Organize the department workflow based on the production schedule report
- Performs other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs. for continued periods during a given shift.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to twelve 12 hours).
- Must be able to work in a non-air-conditioned manufacturing environment for up to 12 hours per shift.
- Visual acuity.
- Clear communication skills.
