Job Description

Job Title:
Material Handler - Forklift Operator 1st 6am - 2:30pm Job Description This role supports a busy manufacturing facility by safely handling, moving, and staging materials using sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes. You will deliver materials to machine operators, welders, and assemblers, and help keep production flowing smoothly by following work orders and production schedules. The position is a direct hire opportunity on first shift in a heavy industrial environment that produces large vibratory equipment and conveyors for industries such as mining, construction, and oil and gas. Responsibilities Handle and move materials throughout the manufacturing facility using a sit-down forklift, overhead crane, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment. Pull materials from inventory and deliver them to machine operators, welders, assemblers, and other production staff according to work orders and production schedules. Primarily support the small parts welding area by ensuring materials and finished parts are moved to and from workstations efficiently. Unload incoming trucks using an overhead crane and stage materials in the warehouse for further processing or storage. Follow detailed work orders and production schedules to ensure each department has the materials needed to run efficiently and on time. Transport finished products from the small parts area to the next step in the production process or store them in the warehouse as required. Perform general material handling tasks such as packaging, lifting boxes, picking orders, loading and unloading, and using RF scanners as needed. Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading outbound shipments and verifying materials are properly staged and organized. Work safely in a heavy industrial environment, following all safety procedures when using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment. Collaborate with warehouse staff, heavy assemblers, machine operators, welders, and other team members to maintain an efficient material flow throughout the shop. Essential Skills Proven material handling experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency operating a sit-down forklift in a production or warehouse setting. Experience using an overhead crane to move large or heavy materials. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Experience with material handling tasks such as packaging, lifting boxes, packing orders, picking, loading, unloading, and general labor in a production environment. Experience in shipping and receiving, including loading, unloading, and staging materials. Ability to use RF scanners for picking, tracking, or inventory tasks. Comfort working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment with large equipment and components. Strong attention to safety when operating forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Ability to follow work orders and production schedules accurately and consistently. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $43680.00/yr. reat company benefits. Benefits include competitive pay, health, dental and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(K) with company match. They also have a HSA and FSA for employees (Benefits are attached).
