Warehouse Associate Schmid Tool & Engineering, Corp. - 3.9 Franklin Park, IL Job Details Full-time $23.00 - $23.25 an hour 11 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Employee assistance program Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Computer literacy English High school diploma or GED Shipping and receiving inventory management Full Job Description Primary Purpose and Function The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving inbound shipments, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders. This role supports the overall efficiency of the Shipping and Receiving department while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. __________________________________________________________________________________________
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily shipping and receiving activities.
- Conduct routine inventory cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain supermarket areas to support timely order fulfillment.
- Schedule carrier pick-ups based on order requirements.
- Identify and report defective materials or questionable product conditions to the department supervisor.
- Conduct weekly Kanban audits and submit re-order forms as needed.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized while following all prescribed safety protocol
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor and/or management, in alignment with organizational goals and operational needs.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high transaction volume.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to interpret packing slips, match goods received to purchase orders and accurately enter data into inventory systems.
- Ability to prepare and complete bills of lading.
- Ability to weigh packages using a scale and calculate shipping costs.
- Experience with UPS shipping software preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a shipping and receiving environment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
