Glenview, IL — Onsite (hours: Mon-Fri 6:00 AM-3:30 PM; Saturdays as needed)

Compensation:

$20-$25/hour DOE Job Overview We're hiring a dependable Yard Worker for our trim & mouldings department. You'll support yard operations by stocking, moving, staging, and securing building materials, assisting customers and drivers, and maintaining a safe, organized yard. We'll train the right person; previous lumber-yard or construction experience is a plus. Key Responsibilities Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material carts to move and stage materials safely. Load and unload trucks; verify shipments against paperwork and build tickets. Build and secure customer and delivery loads using tensioners and banding. Assist customers and contractors with product selection and sizing. Keep the yard organized and safe: sweep, remove debris, clear pathways, and consolidate dumpsters. Work with the yard foreman to prioritize tasks and resolve operational issues. Required Qualifications 1+ year experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or construction environment OR demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding yard work. Able to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred; training available). Strong attention to detail and safety-focused mindset. Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in all weather . Good communication skills and ability to work on a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience specifically with trim and mouldings. Familiarity with shipping/receiving procedures and warehouse management systems.
