Job Description

Material Handler
BYSTRONIC MANUFACTURING AMERICAS LLC
Material Handler position is responsible for moving parts and materials within Bystronic manufacturing facility in order to support the assembly process, including but not limited to using hand tools to unpackage and uncrate incoming materials as well as using equipment such are forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes to unload and distribute received materials either into inventory locations or to the assembly lines. This position is also responsible for supporting inventory accuracy as well as maintaining an organized and neat warehouse.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Unloading, unpackaging, and uncrating incoming materials, parts and products, Moving materials within the facility, such is from and to loading docks, storage areas, and manufacturing assembly and subassembly areas, Operating different equipment such is pallet jacks, forklifts, overhead cranes to move materials within the facility, Identifying and labeling materials, Kitting of materials needed for assembly process, Performing basic parts and subassembly transactions using SAP ERP system, Maintaining and supporting inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts, using established visual aids though Kanban methodology, Operating and maintaining inventory Kanban system, Filling out and maintaining documentation related to inventory (electronic or hard copies) and material issuance to production orders, Following the safety guidelines and recommendations established by the company and the manufacturing department, Participating in projects and continuous improvement activities, Maintaining warehouse areas' cleanliness and organization, Ability to develop productive and collaborative working relationship with all team members, Flexibility and willingness to cross train on different functions, Other duties assigned as business need dictates
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree preferred but not required, Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing warehouse/inventory environment, SAP experience and knowledge preferred, Ability to read, comprehend and interpret work instructions, bills of material, policies and standard operating procedures, Ability to use hand tools and powered tools such are wrenches, hammers, crowbars, screwdrivers, drills, etc., Basic computer skills, Knowledge of basic technology terms and mechanical / electrical interactions of sub-systems within a system, Forklift and crane experience and/or certification required, or ability to obtain certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks, Ability to stand, kneel, bend or reach frequently during the duration of the work shift, Ability to work overtime as required, Ability to lift 50 lbs.
