Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Trucking Yard Person to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the efficient movement, loading, and unloading of trucks within the yard, ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times. Your proactive approach will help maintain smooth warehouse operations, support shipping and receiving processes, and uphold our commitment to safety and productivity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment and contribute to a fast-paced distribution environment. Responsibilities Safely load and unload trucks using equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers. Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements and update shipment records accurately. Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on equipment like forklifts and other heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance. Assist with order picking processes, including manual handling of materials and heavy lifting, adhering strictly to safety standards in production. Manage shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation is completed efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized yard environment by properly stacking pallets, securing loads, and ensuring safe pathways for all equipment. Follow OSHA regulations and safety standards diligently to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment for all team members. Qualifications Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo), pallet jacks, and order pickers. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on heavy equipment. Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes, materials handling, manual handling techniques, and heavy lifting protocols. Prior warehouse or distribution center experience is highly preferred; supervisory experience in a warehouse setting is a plus. Basic math skills for inventory counts and shipment documentation accuracy. Commitment to safety standards in production environments in compliance with OSHA regulations.
