A material handler is responsible for receiving, storing, picking, labeling and transporting materials throughout the facility to support operational and customer needs. They safely operate material handling equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure materials are properly identified and staged. Their role is critical to maintaining efficient workflow, inventory accuracy, and on-time production and distribution activities. As a Material Handler Specialist, you'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring products move smoothly from warehouse to customers. Get ready to stay active, you'll be on your feet, lifting, bending, and pushing (sometimes up to 40 lbs.) to keep things moving !Here's what you'll tackle: Picking, shipping, and receiving products while following safety and quality procedures. Operating forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials efficiently. Using RF handheld devices to keep inventory accurate and organized. Inspecting goods for quality and ensuring everything matches invoices and purchase orders. Loading/unloading supplies and finished products with precision. What makes you a great catch? You're the go-to person for keeping everything in motion—literally! Experience working in a distribution or warehouse environment (1-3+ years preferred). Certified forklift operator with skills in both battery and propane forklifts. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to following safety procedures. Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills. Basic math and computer skills to handle inventory and logistics. Ability to lift and move items individually or as part of a team. Your Work Environment:
Employees work indoors in a temperature-controlled area. Employees will often be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Employees will need to be alert/attentive to heavy machinery on the manufacturing floor (e.g., forklifts) Must wear safety attire or protective gear daily (e.g., vest, protective glasses) Must be able to withstand extreme temperatures (ex: heat, humidity, cold) Employees may have to lift up to and in excess of 50lbs on the floor individually or as a team. Physical movements necessary are, but not limited to: pushing, bending, pulling, standing, walking and lifting overhead. Employees will primarily be on their feet most of the day. What You will Need to
Succeed:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience in distribution or warehousing. Forklift certification and the ability to operate both battery and propane forklifts. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others. Attention to detail and a focus on safety and accuracy.
