MATERIALS HANDLER
(TITLE 32), WG-6907-4/5/6, you will oversee one or more product lines, a segment of a large warehouse, or serve as the senior employee in a smaller warehouse or supply facility.
Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Check stock numbers and part numbers in supply calogs to adequely identify property. Identify, examine, classify, accept, and dispose of a wide variety of merials and property including electronic equipment, aircraft and automotive components and assemblies. Opere large warehouse perimeter vehicles such as cargo tractors, stake trucks, mobile cranes, and forklifts ranging in size up to 10,000 lbs. Determine physical condition and serviceability of merial and property. Prepare items for processing, utilizing approprie Standard Anny Management Informion System (STAMIS) such as computer terminal and bar code reader to read, store, track and prepare merial documention. Prepare inventory and production reports, screens and identifies shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies, and directs shipments to shipping or storage areas. Store hazardous merials; requires knowledge or specialized handling, storing, and safety procedures. Assist in the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock to determine warehouse configurion, setup, movement, rearrangement and traffic flow. Serve as the senior member of a warehouse project team comprised of merial handlers involved in a special project such as relocing a major commodity or equipment group or setting up a new commodity group area. Advise supervisor about inconsistent shipment informion, defective merial or property, and damage from shipping. Route items to maintenance activity for technical inspections when defects, excessive wear, corrosion, missing pm1s or damage is discovered. Perform classificion inspections for merial within range of authority; ensure formal accountability when receiving, storing or issuing. : WG-06 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience or training in receiving, packaging, and preparion for shipment; experience in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documention requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques; experience in setting up and roting storage locions considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc. WG-05 Level - MUST possess the experience or training demonstring the ability to store, organize and/or rote a variety of bin and bulk supplies, merials, equipment, and commodities. Familiar with basic warehouse procedures. Experience in determining quantities of inventory items. Experience in following oral and written instructions WG-04 Level - MUST possess the experience or training which demonstres the ability to compare item identificion against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other hand tools; and to follow oral and written instructions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizions (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
