Job Description

Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description The Material Handler plays a vital role in coordinating and supporting inventory management, customer orders, production activities, and safety procedures to ensure that warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position supports both office and warehouse functions, helping to meet customer demands while maintaining accurate inventory and a clean, organized facility. Responsibilities Enter customer orders accurately and efficiently into the appropriate systems. Support load scheduling for transportation to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Prepare all necessary shipping and receiving paperwork, including pick tickets, delivery tickets, and bills of lading. Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain accurate and efficient inventory levels. Maintain optimal inventory levels and facilitate inventory movement between locations to prevent shortages and support high customer service standards. Reconcile inventory across all sites, including warehouses and co-manufacturing facilities, with 10-20% travel as needed. Perform month-end and year-end inventory counts to ensure accurate reporting. Assist operators on the production floor as needed to support operational flexibility and continuity. Maintain warehouse cleanliness in accordance with facility standards, including general housekeeping and sanitation tasks. Work independently or as part of a team to provide production and sanitation support within the warehouse and production areas. Ensure proper filing and organization of inventory counts, documentation, and all required communications. Use warehouse equipment, including forklifts, to load, unload, move, and organize materials safely and efficiently. Undertake any other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and production operations. Essential Skills Previous warehouse experience handling materials and supporting inventory activities. Proven forklift experience operating warehouse forklifts safely and efficiently. Experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and staging products. Ability to support inventory control processes, including cycle counts and reconciliations. Basic understanding of warehouse inventory practices and documentation requirements. Ability to enter customer orders accurately and follow established procedures. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate paperwork and inventory records. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Willingness and ability to travel 10-20% of the time to other sites, as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with dispatch or customer service tasks related to order entry and load scheduling. Familiarity with preparing shipping documentation such as pick tickets, delivery tickets, and bills of lading. Comfort working in both warehouse and production environments. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Strong communication skills to support documentation and coordination with other departments. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time Material Handler position working Monday through Friday, with typical shifts from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The role is based in a warehouse and production environment where employees regularly work with forklifts and other material handling equipment. The work involves moving, loading, and unloading materials, performing inventory counts, and supporting production activities in an active facility. The environment emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with expectations to maintain warehouse and production areas to facility standards. Employees work both independently and as part of a team to support continuous operations and meet customer demands. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orangeville, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
