Warehouse Worker Job Description This role involves working in a dynamic warehouse environment, handling materials and products, and supporting daily operations to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. You will move and lift items up to 50 pounds, operate warehouse equipment and hand tools, and assist with packing, shipping, and receiving activities. Responsibilities Lift, move, and handle materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Assist with picking, packing, and preparing products for shipment according to order requirements. Use packaging equipment such as tape dispensers, banding tools, pallet jacks, anti-static packaging, liquid foam fill packaging, shrink wrap, box sizing tools, and scales to complete orders accurately and safely. Assist with unpacking parts and materials in preparation for receiving in the Asset Management System. Perform order picking using RF scanners or similar devices to ensure accurate selection of products. Handle shipping tasks, including labeling, staging, and preparing orders for carrier pickup. Operate warehouse equipment and hand tools safely and in accordance with training and procedures. Work in different departments as needed, supporting material handling, packing, order picking, and shipping activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in all assigned sections of the warehouse. Follow all warehouse procedures, safety guidelines, and work instructions while meeting productivity and quality expectations. Essential Skills At least 6 months of warehouse experience. At least 6 months of picking and packing experience. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Comfort working in a warehouse environment with changing temperatures. Ability to operate warehouse equipment and hand tools safely. Ability to move between and support different warehouse departments as needed. Experience with packaging equipment such as tape dispensers, banding tools, pallet jacks, anti-static packaging, liquid foam fill packaging, shrink wrap, box sizing, and scales. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of Stock-keeping Units (SKU) is desirable. Experience in a product manufacturing environment is preferred. Approximately 4 months of forklift experience is an asset. Any previous customer service experience is an advantage. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a warehouse setting with exposure to changing temperatures and active material handling throughout the day. You will regularly use warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, packaging tools, and various hand tools while working around packaging materials like shrink wrap, anti-static packaging, and liquid foam fill. The standard schedule runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a predictable daytime work pattern. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with onsite training provided to help you operate equipment and follow procedures confidently. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wood Dale, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
