Material Handler Job Overview We are seeking a reliable Material Handler / Yard Loader to manage heavy industrial inventory. This role focuses on loading and unloading flatbed trailers, feeding fabrication lines, and assisting the shop team during downtime.

$24.00 per hour

First Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

Required when necessary to meet production and shipping deadlines Material Handler Key Responsibilities Maintain a clean steel yard free of debris, scrap metal, and hazards. Assist truck drivers with strapping, chaining, and securing loads safely. Load and unload flatbed trailers safely in the yard using heavy machinery. Assist the fabrication shop with general tasks when trailer volume is low. Operate large-capacity forklifts, side-loaders, or overhead cranes. Stage raw steel (beams, plates, channels) for cutting and welding teams. Verify shipping documents for accuracy. Move steel projects around the yard/shop as they move through the fabrication process.

Material Handler Job Requirements Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years in a steel yard, rigging, or heavy industrial environment.

Equipment:

Proven experience with large forklifts (10k+ lbs) or overhead cranes.

Physical:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Safety:

Strict adherence to OSHA standards, steel stacking protocols, and PPE rules.

Skills:

Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, or cut sheets a plus

Pay:

$24.00 - $25.00 per hour
