An employee in this position will perform such duties as sort materials according to type and grade, cleaning scrap metal and processing materials for shipment. All of these duties may require an employee to lift and move items that might weigh 30 to 40 pounds manually and heavier material using a Forklift. As in all of the positions at the recycling facility, this employee will be responsible for the everyday housekeeping and maintenance of the equipment that is used.

DUTIES :

1. Sort metals according to type and grade 2. General maintenance and housekeeping 3. Customer assistance when needed 4. Grading material brought in by customers

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

: 1. Unblemished work and attendance record 2. The strength and flexibility to lift and move up to 30-40 pounds manually 3. The ability and willingness to follow directions 4. Must be alert at all times 5. The ability to work together with other employees as a team

SPECIFIC SKILLS

1. Basic knowledge and ability to follow the safety requirements of the job 2. The ability and willingness to follow directions 3. Must pay attention to details

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

: 1. The ability and willingness to learn new skills 2. Prior work at a metals recycling facility is helpful but not necessary 3. Basic knowledge of materials and their properties 4. Forklift experience required.
