QuikCut, LLC is seeking an experienced, safety-focused Shipping & Receiving / Material Handler to join our team at our newest location in the east/southeast industrial corridor of Fort Wayne, Indiana. If you have experience operating a forklift, working around large steel products, and keeping materials and finished products moving safely and efficiently, we'd love to meet you. This is a hands-on position in a heavy industrial environment. This role plays an essential part in keeping our manufacturing operation running and ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time. You'll work with a variety of materials throughout the manufacturing process, including raw steel, material in fabrication, painted products, and completed steel products. What You'll Do As a Shipping & Receiving / Material Handler, you will safely receive, inspect, stage, transport, load, and unload steel materials and products throughout the facility. You'll work closely with all departments to keep materials flowing efficiently from receiving through finished goods. Receive incoming raw steel, materials, supplies, and other shipments. Inspect incoming materials for quantity, damage, and obvious discrepancies. Safely unload steel and other materials from delivery trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment. Move and stage large and heavy steel products throughout the facility and between production areas. Transport raw and work-in-process materials to welding, paint, and other production departments as needed. Stage finished steel products for shipment according to customer orders and production schedules. Load finished products safely and securely onto trucks for shipment. Verify quantities, part numbers, dimensions, and other shipping information before loading. Assist with shipping and receiving paperwork, bills of lading, packing lists, and other documentation. Record material movements and transactions using inventory or warehouse management software.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Material Handler, Shipping & Receiving Clerk, Forklift Operator, or similar role in a heavy industrial manufacturing or industrial environment. Forklift experience required; previous forklift certification is a plus. Experience handling steel, metal, oversized materials, or other large/heavy products required. Experience loading and unloading trucks and preparing materials or products for shipment. Basic computer skills; experience with inventory management, warehouse management, or ERP systems is a plus. Ability to read shipping documents, packing lists, work orders, and other basic documentation. Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe material-handling practices. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment.
