General Laborer

LOCATION

Kendallville, Indiana

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or Equivalent

ABILITIES

The ability to read and follow concise instructions. The ability to exert maximum muscle strength to lift, throw, push, pull, and /or carry heavy objects (up to fifty [50] lbs). The ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles for repetitive tasks without experiencing fatigue or strain. The ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators is absolutely required. The ability to work outside year around - in all types of weather. The ability to use hand tools such as sledgehammers, brooms, jackhammers, etc. with agility. The ability to learn to visually differentiate brick/refractory types. The ability to work in a dusty, earthy environment.

EXPERIENCE

Operation of construction equipment (front end loaders, fork lifts, excavators, etc.) a plus. Experience as a laborer in the construction industry a plus. Experience with safe working practices. Military experience a plus. Mechanical experience a plus.

ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The ability to grow and advance into a Team Leader/Production Supervisor position. Training and experience on heavy construction equipment (fork-lifts, skid steers, front-end loaders, track-hoes, etc.).
